Hotel le K2 Altitude *****

Resort: Courchevel 1850

About Hotel le K2 Altitude *****

The newly branded Le K2 Altitude (previously the Kilimandjaro) comprises of nine chalets arranged around a central lodge, all built in traditional stone and wood and decorated with funky art pieces and alpine memorabilia.

The hotel has recently been renovated and its 32 rooms and suites were redesigned by Thomas Capezzone and the family’s teams to create living spaces that are lavishly designed and range from 27m2 to 80m2, as well as one large 133m2 suite.

Walking through from one of the chalets to the central hub of the spa, lounge-bar and restaurants it’s hard to tell that the accommodation areas are separate and connected by underground walkways. The rooms are on their own floor in each chalet which gives it a real feeling of privacy.

The restaurant La Cima serves divine Italian / Mediterranean inspired cuisine in a relaxed, elegant atmosphere. At the Michelin-starred restaurant Le Montgomerie, guests can enjoy exquisite fine dining and superb attentive service accompanied by a rich selection of vintage wines from the wine cellar sourced from the finest vineyards. The hotel features a cosy bar and lounge serving fine champagnes, rare spirits and daring cocktails.

The spa features a swimming pool and jacuzzi, outside hot tub, steam and sauna rooms and relaxing couches and beds dotted around the pool. For fitness buffs there is a fully equipped, state of the art gym complete with a large Himalyan salt wall (for energy). There is also a salon and barbers available as well as treatment rooms where guests can enjoy a range of massages or beauty treatments using La Prairie products.

Children are very welcome here and will love the playrooms, there is one for young children and one for teens equipped with seated games, a Star Wars ‘booth’ and games consoles. The fabulous cinema is also great for family or group films and has red tiered comfy sofas and a large screen.

There is an entertainer available to keep kids entertained throughout the afternoon and into the evening and during school holidays the K2 Altitude provides special programmes for children such as mini car racing in the garage, sledge night-races, magic lessons, boat races and aquatic games at the swimming pool.

Courchevel 1850 is an exclusive yet family orientated resort with fantastic pistes for all abilities. The resort is very well connected to the entire 3 valleys ski area opening up 600km of well maintained slopes and a whole host of exciting opportunities and activities.
