France’s Award-winning Ski Chalets

Chalet Marco Polo, Val d’Isère

For a real masterclass in stylish alpine living, look no further than Marco Polo, named as one of the Top Three Ski Chalets in the World in 2018.

Marco Polo, Val D’Isère’s crown jewel, has consistently been recognised for its immaculate architecture and smart interiors. Its state-of-the-art facilities include a gold leaf-covered swimming pool and spa and expansive gym area. Not to mention the cinema screen that descends from the high timber beams after hours.

Other highlights include the wine cellar and fromagerie, carved out of the mountain stone and perfect for wine and cheese tastings.

Chalet Marco Polo was also awarded France’s Best Ski Chalet for the third time in 2018, having won this title back in 2013 and 2014.

 

Chalet Grande Corniche, Les Gets

Chalet Grande Corniche was crowned as one of the Top 3 Ski Chalets in the World in 2017. (Also winning France’s Best Ski Chalet in 2015 and 2017 and nominated again in 2019). Beautifully blending typical alpine chalet style, complete with furs and leathers, with all the mod cons you would expect from a London penthouse.

Sister chalet, Petite Corniche, can be rented alongside Grande Corniche to bring the party size from 15 to 19 guests. This chic and classy property has also been featured in Tatler’s Top 10 Most Glamorous Ski Chalets.

 

Chalet Le Chardon, Val d’Isère

Space, location, luxury. Chardon has it all. Perched on the side of Val d’Isère’s Manchet Valley, this chalet is ideally suited for large groups and big celebrations, sleeping up to 20 adults comfortably.

Make the most of not one but two expansive living areas, vast banquet table and private terrace. The 18ft swim spa is the perfect place to watch the stars while sipping champagne after a long day’s ski.

Shemshak Lodge, Courchevel 1850

Sleeping 8 adults comfortably with room for five kids, Shemshak Lodge was voted one of the Top Three Ski Chalets in the World in 2019. This ski-in/ ski-out property, designed by a top-drawer London interior designer, was also crowned France’s Best Ski Chalet 2019.

And there’s a reason it’s viewed as is one of Courchevel 1850’s most lavish alpine hotspots, charming visitors from all over the globe. Highlights include its enormous heated swimming pool and whimsical, mosaic-tiled hammam spa and sauna.

This world-class chalet also appeared in The Telegraph’s Top 10 Ski Chalets in France.

Chalet Alpaca, Méribel

Behold! This exceptional chalet was voted the World’s Best Ski Chalet in 2017 and nominated for France’s Best Ski Chalet 2019. Set out over three floors, this spectacular Méribel chalet comes with its own indoor climbing wall, library, bar, hammam and spa.

The outdoor terraced area with mood-lit swimming pool and hot tub is a crowning jewel here, the perfect space for entertaining a rowdy après ski.

 

Chalet Machapuchare, Val d’Isère

A relative newcomer on the block, Chalet Machupachare was nominated for the exciting World’s Best New Ski Chalet award in 2019.

Expertly finished from the top fifth floor to boot-room-bottom, Machupachare is a real treat for interior design lovers and architects with its immaculate finishings throughout.

 

Chalet Mont Tremblant, Méribel
