About Chalet Vanoise
Chalet Vanoise is a fairly unique property – there are very few luxury self catering chalets in the resort and even fewer that can sleep 14 guests together in a beautifully spacious setting. The chalet is 250sqm in total area and is located in the same building as her sister chalet, Sarire. Vanoise commands a special spot in the resort and is perfect for groups or families that want great access to the mountains but a safe and quiet spot for children to play outside in an evening.
If you love your off-piste skiing, the property gives direct access to the famous off piste areas of the Grand Vallon and Col Pers. The chalet is often deep in snow for most of the winter and has a higher annual snow depth than the main village area. Beginners and children alike will be pleased to learn that in two quick lifts you will find gently sloping glacier skiing with unrivalled snow at 3300m.
Chalet Vanoise is unique, its a mix of contemporary grey local stone and large stretches of mountain larch wood walls matched with rococo mirrors and Parisian chic. The main entrance is on the ground level where you will find a heated ski room for the chalet with good storage and boot warmers. Here you will also find two covered parking spots, a rarity in the valley. If you require more it’s a large garage so please just ask before you set off. A sweeping staircase rises throughout all floors of the chalet and brings you first onto the living and dining level. An open plan kitchen with induction hobs sit alongside a large reclaimed wood table, which can seat 14 for supper. The living space has an open fireplace surrounded by seating, which looks out over the east facing deck and in the spring catches the morning sun. There is also a large flat screen TV with two sofas, which are ideal for slouching and watching TV or a movie.
The bedrooms have a large family home-style arrangement; the second floor has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One contains adult sized reclaimed wood bunks and a unique built in queen-sized bunk bed, perfect for children. The other two bedrooms have fixed king-sized beds. Ascending to the top floor, the mountains come more into view and you will find a large master suite with a king bed and its own bathroom plus a slightly smaller fixed king en-suite room with a large terrace and west facing view down to the main village.
The rooms feel large and many contain bathrooms with natural stone sourced from different parts of the country. Also, three of the bathrooms contain full sized deep bathtubs, which are becoming rarer in the resort as chalet sizes seem to reduce.
The chalet is self catered but with the addition of a host who will prepare and make breakfast for you and do the housekeeping on six days. There is no additional food or wine included in the service with this chalet but there is a wine list from which you can purchase bottles from our cellar if you like. There is a limited concierge service with the property that will absolutely help you with organising your ski equipment and complimentary lifts to and from the hire shops and arrange your lift passes so you don’t have to queue.

Part of the Espace Killy ski region, Val d’Isere is a popular resort for British skiers. The vast ski area offers terrain for all abilities, with over 300km of pistes and excellent snow coverage. Not for the faint-hearted, the confident intermediate or advanced skier can take on the infamous ‘Le Face’ run, which used to function as the Olympic downhill course, and one to visit if you really want to make those legs burn. There are also two nursery areas near the centre of town, making this a great destination for families.Explore Val d’Isère
