Chalet Kilimanjaro I
About Chalet Kilimanjaro I
Elevated above the roofs of Val d’Isere in emulation of its namesake, Chalet Kilimanjaro is a cut above many of its rival luxury ski chalets. If you like to get straight out onto the snow, and get a flying start ahead of the crowd, then you will love this five star mountain lodge. It sits just a few metres from the Solaise piste, giving you that coveted ski in, ski out advantage.
Architecturally, Chalet Kilimanjaro resembles a traditional old wood-built chalet has been deconstructed and re-arranged around huge panes of glass to create a spectacular, light filled space. Timeworn old beams and wood panelling lend a cosy feel to the rooms, whilst panoramic views across the snowy expanse of Espace Killy fill you with rapture and inspiration.
You can escape from the world in Chalet Kilimanjaro, nestled in the exclusive hamlet of La Legettaz above Val d’Isere. Whenever you want to venture out to the shops and bars of this fashionable resort, just ask the chauffeur to drop you off in style. Whilst others may be stranded after staying out too late, your driver service runs until 2am, giving you plenty of time to experience the fabled nightlife.
Skiing back to this peaceful chalet is a real treat after a day out on the snow. Just leave your skis and boots in the ski room and ascend the marble stairs to the comfort of the living room where a crackling fire is burning. Teatime snacks are laid out, and refreshing drinks revive your flagging energy levels as the team of staff attends discretely. Chalet Kilimanjaro combines rustic warmth with contemporary comforts. Alongside the antique desks and soft woollen throws there is satellite TV, wireless internet and a Wii console.
Behind the kitchen door, your professional chef prepares a spectacular evening meal, of which you may catch a delicious whiff as you relax on the sofa, taking in the views. On the floor below you, some members of your party may be watching a freestyle skiing DVD in the TV room, as the chalet host makes arrangements for everyone to have in-house massages.

Part of the Espace Killy ski region, Val d’Isere is a popular resort for British skiers. The vast ski area offers terrain for all abilities, with over 300km of pistes and excellent snow coverage. Not for the faint-hearted, the confident intermediate or advanced skier can take on the infamous ‘Le Face’ run, which used to function as the Olympic downhill course, and one to visit if you really want to make those legs burn. There are also two nursery areas near the centre of town, making this a great destination for families.Explore Val d’Isère
