Luxury Chalets in Gstaad

About Gstaad

Situated in the Berner Oberland, Gstaad is home to one of the largest ski areas in the Swiss Alps. The middle of the village features a promenade with numerous shops, restaurants and hotels. If you’re after restaurants with charm, then look no further; the mountains are scattered with quaint places to try.

From a personal perspective, the Gstaad valley is a very special place. After doing many seasons across Canada and Switzerland I decided to settle in Gstaad. The joy of this ski region is that you rarely queue for ski lifts, the off piste is hardly skied and will be there for the whole week.

The region isn’t high and runs tend to be shorter than those in France but if you know where to look you’d never ski anywhere else. If it’s altitude you’re looking for then Le Diableret (Gstaad’s Glacier) is your answer…these runs can compete with the best in France.

It is advisable to have a car in Gstaad as the skiing is split into many different mountains. Some only have 1 lift, but every hill offers something special. Gstaad is a real gem and needs to be experienced.
